Safe exposure levels
Hearing loss is a function of exposure time, the average noise level
and the peak level of very loud sounds. i.e. The louder the sound and the
longer you are exposed, the quicker your hearing is lost. Be sensible, you
only have one chance and one pair of ears.
- 65 - Conversational level
- 91 - Shouting from a few feet
- 100 - Pneumatic drill/press
- 102 - Orchestras
- 109 - Jackhammers
- 119 - Old chain saw
- 121 - Live music, concerts
- 140 - Jet taking off
